Dry Skin & Cracked Lips; Helpful Tips
Its that time of year when the weather gets cooler and the heat gets turned on. Like most people I also suffer from extreme dry skin and cracked lips. It is important to change your skin care regime for the season and add some extra TLC for your skin, to fight the cold outdoors and the dry heat inside.
Switch your SPF moisturiser for something soothing, look for lotions and balms that contain Shea butter and essential oils like Jojoba.
If you have cracked lips mix some honey and raw sugar and apply to your lips. This works best after a shower or bath when your lips are soft from the steam and moisture.
If your lips are severely dry you can also use a toothbrush to exfoilate them; for this method you must! shower or bath first to ensure your lips are soft.
A quick fix for dry lips is to add Vaseline or Patrolmen jelly, I wouldn’t recommend using this product on a daily basis as Patrolmen Jelly doesn’t let your skin breathe
You can also take supplements, I like to take 2 fish oil capsules daily I noticed a difference in my skin within a week!
*Little Tip: If you are worried about fish breath and (or) don’t like the taste, take the capsule at night after dinner and drink some yummy tea afterwards.
